Turning Loss into Triumph

It’s up to you…

It’s Friday night. I imagine that in San Juan, Puerto Rico, those I used to deem amigos go on their usual prolonged happy hour drinking, dining, and dancing while I sit in front of a monitor, tears running down my cheeks. I am drafting Motions to Withdraw as Counsel in the two remaining cases I have left in Puerto Rico. Clean Water Act citizen suit lawsuits that represented the culmination of decades of hard work and dedication in my specialization, environmental law.

After successfully arguing before the First Circuit Court of Appeals a citizen’s right to sue under the Clean Water Act despite agency “action” [inaction] in Cebollero Bertran v. PRASA, 4 F.4th 63 (1st Cir. 2021), these two cases represent the first meaningful opportunity for improving Puerto Rico’s dire polluted waters. In a tropical island where the government dismantled the local environmental agency in violation of federal law, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency chooses to look the other way, these cases represent what the citizen suit provisions were meant to remedy: giving concerned citizens the power to enforce environmental statutes due to the abject indifference and corruption by the regulatory agencies.

I am a targeted individual. At the behest of corrupt oligarchs and polluters in Puerto Rico, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) placed me in a secret category of the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB) reserved for individuals that do not represent a threat to national security. Individuals like myself that are listed on these categories do not get stopped or harassed at airports yet form part of a human experimentation program that aims to obliterate anyone that has been secretly placed in it.

The ‘Program’ comprises a full spectrum of torture tactics that include organized stalking by Citizen Corps minions, warrantless electronic surveillance by the FBI and its shadow operative, Infragard.

Experimentation subjects get illegally implanted by colluding medical doctors and dentists and are subjected to directed energy weapons attacks that cause harms that include (but are not limited to) burns, unbearable pain, blood clots and microwave auditory (Frey) effect.

What is the ultimate goal of the experiment? Aside from retaliation from crossing the ‘wrong’ powerful oligarch or company with access to the FBI to condemn you to a life of torture, is to discover what it is that makes you bend, that makes you give up on life.

Sounds unconstitutional, illegal, and even criminal, right? Yes, those vested with the responsibility of guarding our civil rights are the first ones to obliterate them.

Fortunately, many of the ‘subjects’ the government criminals preyed upon turned out to be indomitable, like wild broncos.

Although I am saddened by having to renounce that which I worked so hard for and represent every environmental attorney’s professional goal, I am grateful for the place that life has brought me to.

PLOT TWIST

Having deprived me of my source of income, the government criminals and oligarchs that invested in my destruction never saw it coming: in September, 2022, I was blessed to flee Puerto Rico.

I currently sit on the Advisory Board of Targeted Justice, a 501(c)(3) human rights organization that fights for the freedom and rights of targeted individuals. www.targetedjustice.com

Being part of Targeted Justice has allowed me to delve into the inordinate suffering and abuse that targeted individuals undergo. I have not just experienced torture as a targeted individual: I have witnessed it.

I am honored to represent eighteen courageous plaintiffs that are petitioning for redress of grievances to the United States Courts, requesting, among other things, that their names be removed from those two secret categories of the TSDB. My clients have suffered and continue to suffer unspeakable atrocities and torture at the hands of government criminals. Like them, there are an estimated 400,000 Americans subjected to the heinous ‘Program’.

Currently before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, case number 23–20342 awaits the Court’s decision on a Petition for Rehearing En Banc filed on April 5th.

FINDING MEANING

Even the most atrocious events in life happen for a good reason.

Prior to discovering I was a targeted individual, I would constantly find myself making lemonade out of lemons. Despite the imposed setbacks that the ‘Program’ placed along the way, such as a fake cancer diagnosis and six weeks of unnecessary radiotherapy, I chose to enjoy life. I chose gratitude. I chose to fully live in the moment.

It was the collaboration of those ‘amigos’ and family that I chose to relish my past life with that made it possible for the government criminals to obliterate the person I used to be.

Today, I choose to forgive them.

I stand strong and proud of the person I have become. I have turned my suffering into meaning. Before I led a fun, yet meaningless life.

Now I am grateful to live a life of purpose.

Please join me in my crusade to end the criminal ‘Program’ and bring peace to millions of people whose lives have been unfairly and atrociously harmed.
